2 Gigabit Fibre Channel PCI-X adapter (#5716)
The adapter can be used to attach devices directly or through the use of
fibre channel switches. With this adapter, your enterprise can support
data transfer at distances of up to 500 meters running at 1 Gbps data
rate between the adapter and an attaching device or switch. The adapters
can be used with supported fibre channel storage switches with long-wave
  optics. At distances of up to 10 kilometers, these adapters can run at
  either 1 Gbps or 2 Gbps data rates.

These adapters are designed to provide up to a 20% performance increase
in I/O operations over the previous 2 Gigabit Fibre Channel PCI-X Adapter
(FC#6239). It uses the high-density, fully-integrated, next generation FC
controller with improved boundary scan and BIST on the controller internal
memory.
