PrincipleSoftware Engineer - Automation Test

Overview:
The Calix Systems Test engineering group is seeking a principlesoftware engineer at our Nanjing, China location. This individual will work aspart of our Systems Test team that validates telecommunicationequipment which includes data, telephone, video services over Ethernet andWi-Fi, as well as the management integration.

Preferred:
The job includes efforts to design, implement and maintain automationtest system for Systems Test team and company wideness reusing.  It also includes the test innovation ondeveloping new test techniques, utilities or test methods on both functionaland non-functional aspects to support incremental maintenance on automationtest. This position requires a strong technicalinfluence, solid architecture understanding in automation test and goodcommunication skills. This individual will work closely with the localengineering teams, other test teams within Calix as well as the developmentteam.

Responsibilities include:

·       Evaluate, design and implementof the automation test framework;

·       Develop unit test forimplementations and qualify the test framework;

·       Develop new testtechniques and test cases on product roadmap on both functional and non-functionalapproaches;

·       Strong supports to testautomation and contribute to grow automation coverage and ROI;

·       Work with local andUSA team on detailed project planning, creating and maintaining testenvironments, and assisting the team to accomplish our goals;

·       Develop, document, andexecute verification test strategy and test plans individually and with a team;

·       Develop comprehensivetest cases and environments. Work with team to automate testing to the largestextent possible;

·       Write clear, conciseand understandable system description, problem and test reports.

Required qualificationsinclude:

·       Computer Science, orSW Engineering M.S. or above degree;;

• Over 10 year     or equivalent experience in a software/ telecommunication development or     SW test environment;
  

·       Strong understandingon advanced topics of Python programming and popular frameworks;

·       Good understanding onautomation test and the automation test system build-up;

·       Good understanding onunit test, CI and the application framework;

·       Experience and knowledge with datacommunications or telecommunications equipment testing in one or more of thefollowing areas preferred: Network Protocols, Residential Gateway, WLAN(802.11), TR69, Video Services, FE/GE Ethernet, GPON, etc.;

·        Good communication skills and strong verbal andwritten English skills;

·        Self-motivated, process and detail oriented.

Preferred qualificationsinclude:

·       Software developmentexperience;

·       Strong Linuxbackground knowledge;

• Track     record of building Python based automation framework will be a plus;
  

·       A proven history of aquick and successful learner and thinker on new software technologies is a bigadvantage;

·       Good skills onprogramming languages as Perl, Ruby, Shell or JavaScript would be an advantage;

·       Good understanding onformal analysis is an advantage.
