POSITION: Build & Release Consultant (Build & Installer Software Engineer)
Location: Shanghai, China

Departmental Objective:
The FMS Sunsystems enterprise Build & Release team is a service team whose objectives are driven by the needs of its R&D customers.
The team's primary objective is the reliable and consistent production of builds to be supplied to maintenance and development teams in R&D. Other objectives include:-
- Creation and maintenance of reliable installation & upgrade processes.
- Production of patches to previously released builds.
- Production of Alpha, Beta & Release builds for Product Marketing
- Administration of the development source control systems.

Role Context / Overall Purpose
To contribute towards all activities related to the building and releasing of SunSystems product, including support and development of the build process and the installation procedures required to install the built product.
To maintain and adhere to build & release procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
In addition to the duties and responsibilities outlined below, the person filling the role will be required to perform other duties assigned by the Manager from time to time.

        To create new versions of SunSystems on the master build machines as requested.
        To produce master versions of SunSystems releases for delivery to Product Marketing.
        To support, maintain and enhance the build process.
        To support, maintain and develop the installation processes.
        To test and validate builds before release to development.
        To ensure integrity and security of the build machines.
        To investigate and resolve issues arising from failed builds
        To provide administration for source control systems used by development.

In carrying out all of the above, the person filling the role shall at all times act in accordance with the company’s business strategy and Quality Policy, and in compliance with all corporate and departmental policies, procedures, and other requirements as defined in the company’s Business Objectives, Policies and Procedures documents (BOPPs).

Frequent contact with all Infor R&D staff to ensure their build requirements are delivered.
Daily contact with Build & Release Team Leader / Manager.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
        Knowledge of build tools such as Ant, Nant and continuous integration tools such as CruiseControl.
        Knowledge of Windows Installer installation tools (ideally Installshield) sufficient to be able to create and support complex installation processes.
        Experience on .Net(C#) projects, good understanding of Object Oriented programing.
        Knowledge of source control systems (SubVersion and Clear Case).
        Reasonable working knowledge of SQL Server database technologies.
        Experience in an IT development environment.
        Sound technical knowledge of Windows and “DOS” command shell environments – including knowledge of scripting methods - ideally JScript.

Desirable
Reasonable working knowledge of Oracle database technologies.

        Educated to degree level or equivalent
        Must have a careful, methodical approach to ensure quality at all times.
        Able to communicate well to ensure build requirements are delivered.
        Able to work unaided, using own initiative to resolve issues.
        Able to work to tight deadlines and under pressure.
        Able to learn and work with a large variety of technologies.
        Willing to take on responsibility for build and service packs to ensure their timely delivery, and to put in extra effort when deadlines dictate.
        Able and willing to travel to other Infor offices for short periods, as and when required.
