Don't update kernel 2.6.9-34.0.2, Cluster/CMAN won't work anymore

Don't upgrade the kernel form 34.0.1 to 34.0.2 on CentOS 4.3, if you have cluster running on your systems.

Looks like the cman needs a new kernel module:

Jul 12 15:56:04 hostname cman: FATAL: Module cman not found. failed


I applied the kernel update kernel-2.6.9-34.0.2 to all my servers (i686,X86_64), nothing works after the upgrade; Tried to remove the 34.0.2 kernel patch, only i686 servers back to nornal, and those X86_64 servers still not working....

hey, you're inside linux world right ?  "enough is good " - the gold rule and i suggest everyone to lock down their stable system , test newly released kernel/errata if necessary and limit the evaluation only on the test bed, ensure everything get OK then deploy to your production system.

Good day can be a hard day if you step out more than real expect.

hehe... I use to run yum update without "-y" option, but I think this time I'm just so "lucky" to get the kernel update...
